Run Till You Die

Run Till You Die This is terrible advice. Then again… the alternative is worse. “I can’t do that.” I hate hearing “I could never do that! Its way farther than I could run.” Maybe they’ll talk about a 10k, a half marathon or even a marathon they’re training for…months down the road. Coach Travis, and … Continue reading

2017 Rina’s Run Half Marathon Race Report

Before I even toed the line at my first pacing event, I signed up for my second…. With the Silver State 50 Miler on May 20, I knew I wanted some shorter miles and found a half marathon close by, in need of pacers. I signed up for the 1:40 group and that was that. … Continue reading

East Coast Wanderings & Hell Hath No Hurry 50K – Getting ready for a taste of hell

…It had been 12 years since the last time I been up there, long before I was who I am now, and certainly before I was a runner. The mixed memories of my youth left me with a view that was grander than what lay before me. It was a sublime moment of reflection. Our memories of the past are often minimal when seen through the eyes our future selves…. Continue reading

Canyons 100K & Tahoe Rim Trail 100 – Training, Camping and BRAND NEW EVENT!

The weekend before the Canyons, there is a nice, low key race series held just south of San Jose. There are 5K, 10K, 13.1, 18 mile, and 50K events. I plan on doing the 13.1 as that is a 10 mile day for me.

Sacramento Beat the Blerch 2015

Beat the Blerch Guest Report by Mrs Winged Ling (aka almostwonderwoman)….

I was thrilled to be running the Beat the Blerch Half Marathon. I read the comics, got a costume, talked people from work into running it. In the interest of journalistic integrity I would have to admit to being a Blerch fangirl.

As many fangirls and boys have found out, sometimes you should never meet your heroes. Continue reading

Gold Rush 10 Mile / 5K Trail Run Race Report

Honey, wake up. It’s almost six o’clock. *%$#. One four-letter-expletive later, and I was up out of bed and moving. Dressed for the day with coffee in hand, I grabbed my gear bag and ran to the car. Folsom Lake, here I come. Super September Yolo Brewing and Total Body Fitness, two local Sacramento area … Continue reading
